Entrance examinations
Entrance examinations for the National Theatre Drama School are held in two stages:
In the first stage, candidates are invited to prepare and perform two monologues, one classical (up to the 18th century) and one modern, as well as one poem.
The two monologues must not be more than 1½ pages (combined). The poem must not exceed 15 lines.
The candidates selected to continue to the second stage will then compete in:
a) a written test of general knowledge of the theatre
b) singing
c) movement (on an unseen topic) and
d) improvisation (on a text seen in advance).
Anyone interested in applying to the GNT Drama School could contact the school secretary at the National Theatre from 1-15 September, after the relevant announcement has been made, submitting:
- certified copy of high school (Lyceum) graduation certificate
- birth certificate or certified copy of identity card, and
- two photographs.
Candidates must also submit a curriculum vitae detailing any experience with the theatre, music and dance (studies, workshops, involvement in productions, etc).
The age limit for applications is set by law at 25 years of age.
