The theatre is situated in the basement of the Sikiarideio Hall. It was designed to operate as a music hall, but soon became a cinema. Its ownership was taken over by the Ministry of Culture in 1987, and since 1993 the National has staged productions there. Since 1995 it has been the home of the Children s Theatre. There is a children?s bookshop in the foyer and a creative play-space for young theatregoers. The stage is 11.50 wide, 7.5 metres deep and the roof is 4 metres above it.
