Ziller Building – New Stage Nikos Kourkoulos
The New Theatre is part of the New Wing of the National Theatre, designed by the architect Vasilis Douras and built between 1961 and 1963. It was initially used for rehearsals. In 1970, the architect Manos Perakis transformed it into a flexible theatrical space, with movable seating units and removable leather seats. The auditorium can be adapted to all basic types of stage and other theatre environments. It opened in 1971.
