Despoina-Maria Zahariou
She was born in Athens, where she currently lives and works. She studied at PANSIK Fashion School, specializing in fashion design and garment construction. She has attended seminars in costume design and scenography with Giannis Metzikof, an opera production design masterclass with Paris Mexis, as well as a Fashion Styling seminar with Fotini Politaki at PANSIK. She holds a degree in Physical Education and Sport Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master’s degree in Sport Management from the Hellenic Open University.
She has worked as an assistant set and costume designer in productions of the National Theatre of Greece, the Poreia Theatre for the Athens Epidaurus Festival, and the Neos Kosmos Theatre, collaborating with directors such as: Elena Mavridou (The Last Raven), Aris Biniaris (Faust), Dimitris Tarlow (Electra by Sophocles), and Vangelis Theodoropoulos (Till The Stars Come Down). In parallel, she has also been active in the field of fashion (Zeus Dione, Athens Fashion Week) and engages in the design, creation, and artistic curation of costumes for photoshoots.
