Dimitra Kondylaki has translated classical and contemporary authors, including Michel Vinaver, Jean Genet, Eugène Ionesco, Claudine Galea, Guillaume Gallienne, Frédéric Sonntag, Carin Lacroix, Alfred de Musset, Georges Feydeau, Maurice Maeterlinck, Marina Tsvetaeva, Edgar Lee Masters, as well as works by Greek contemporary playwrights such as Dimitris Dimitriadis, Yannis Mavritsakis, Elena Penga into French. A member of the Société des auteurs et compositeurs dramatiques and the International Centre for Theatrical Translation - Maison Antoine Vitez (Paris), she has collaborated as a dramaturge and translator with international cultural organizations, theaters and festivals such as Odéon - Théâtre de l’Europe, Atelier Européen de la Traduction - Scène Nationale d’Orléans, Théâtre de la Ville (Paris), Avignon Festival, Athens Epidaurus Festival, International Theatre Institute, etc.
Dramaturge and director of the plays Spoon River Quartet based on The Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters (2020), Matsi Chatzilazarou, Erase my Face and Let’s Start Anew (2013) and Marina Tsvetaeva’s Sonechka (2006), Kondylaki also conceived and curated the exhibition Rooms of Memory. Wandering into Loula Anagnostaki’s World (Athens Epidaurus Festival 2018).
She has authored the monographs: The Theatrical Dimitris Dimitriadis: Exploring the Possibility of the Unexpected (Nominated for Best Theatrological Publication by the Association of Greek Theatre and Music Critics, Nefeli 2016); The Language of Contemporary Theatre on the Horizon of Literature (Nefeli 2023).
Assistant Professor in the Department of French Language and Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Division of Translation & Translation theory), she served as Artistic Consultant and Head of Publications at the Athens Epidaurus Festival the last ten years (2016-2025).
