Fanis Sakellariou
Fanis Sakellariou is a performance artist, director and sound designer. He graduated from “Empros” drama school, Athens, East 15 Acting School, London (BA Acting & Contemporary Theatre), and University of the Arts, London: Central Saint Martins (MA Performance Design & Practice, Distinction). He has produced works on theatre, performance, installations and films since 2010 in London, Berlin, Athens, Venice, Prague, Netherlands, Tokyo, Canada and Israel. His previous work includes the visual physical performances CREATA (Prague Quadrennial 2023 Disk Theatre DAMU) and Homeward (Micahel Cacoyiannis Foundation - Athens 2023, Our Festival 7 - Athens 2021, Central Saint Martins - London 2020). He participated in the 60th Venice Biennale as sound artist in the installation Don’t Miss The Cue by Aziza Kadyri (2024, Uzbekistan National Pavilion). Since 2020 he has been collaborating with director Thanos Papakonstantinou as sound designer and assistant director (The Free Besieged, - National Theatre of Greece 2021, Crude Iron - Kypria 2021, Thyestes - Athens & Epidaurus Festival 2023) and composer Dimitrios Skyllas as sound designer (Afterpop OST - Onassis Stegi, BBC Symphonic Orchestra). He participated in the interdisciplinary studio research residency Parodos at the Small Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus (Athens & Epidaurus Festival, 2022). He collaborates with scenographer Olga Ntenta as performer and sound designer in the performance Greek Precarious Body (World Stage Design 2022 - Calgary Canada, Athens Digital Arts Festival). He participated in Prague Quadrennial 2019 36Q Sound Kitchen with his interactive sonar installation αrepΩ.
