Katerina-Christina Manolakou
Katerina-Christina Manolakou was born in Paris. She studied painting with Nikos Kessanlis at the Athens School of Fine Arts. She studied set and costume design with George Ziakas at the same university. She got a scholarship to continue her postgraduate studies in Theatre Design with Philip Prowse, at the Slade School of Fine Arts, University College London (UCL).
As a theatre and costume designer she collaborated with theatres and organizations such as: Karolos Koun Art Theatre for the plays Three sisters and Iphigenia in Aulis staged in Ancient Epidaurus Theatre, Greek National Opera for Aida, Municipal and regional theatre of Kalamata for Ghosts and Romeo and Juliet, Municipal and regional theatre of Patras for Garden, Ashes, Athens Epidaurus Festival for The coronation of Poppea, Athens Epidaurus Festival for The experience of a performance-Garden, Ashes and The experience of a reading-Brothers Karamazov by Elias Kounelas, Mets Arts Center for Anniversary - 200 years of the birth of Fyodor Dostoyevsky by Elias Kounelas, 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture for Nights of Slowness, Kamiros for Will have your eyes by Elias Kounelas, etc.
In cinema she collaborated in films such as: Brides by Pantelis Voulgaris, The Trikala photographer by Vassilis Kosmopoulos, Exit by Thanassis Totsikas, Saying Goodbye by Rinio Dragasaki, Fugitive pieces by Jeremy Podeswa, Positive? by Dimitris Bavelas, Mesecina by Sophia Exarchou, Medea Melea by Christos Karabelas etc.
She has taken part in several art exhibitions.
She is also creator of the performance Depths 2024, first part of the short film Woman curries earth.
