Nefeli Papanastasopoulou
Nefeli Papanastasopoulou is a dramaturg and assistant director with experience in theatre and music-theatre productions in Greece and Germany. She has collaborated with major institutions such as the National Theatre of Greece, the Greek National Opera, the Epidaurus Festival, Volksbühne, and Deutsche Oper Berlin.In 2025, she worked as guest Abend Spielleiterin at Vaganten Theater Berlin for the play Die Brücke von Mostar and as assistant director for Hoffmanns Erzählungen at Theater an der Oper LOS. She has served as dramaturg and co-writer for productions like HOLY BITCH (directed by Elli Papakonstantinou – co-produced with Neüköllner Oper) and Orpheus/Eurydice (National Theatre of Greece, directed by Tobias Klett).She has also collaborated extensively with director Aris Biniaris as dramaturg or assistant director in productions such as Faust, The Birds, Salo, the concert, The Rise of Arturo Ui, and Prometheus. Her opera experience includes stage management and assistant directing roles at Theater Vorpommern (Rigoletto, My Fair Lady).She trained in directing under Julien Gosselin (Extinction, Volksbühne) and has participated in various artistic projects as performer, photographer, and cultural writer (e.g. LOAD magazine). She has also been active in visual arts and photography (Athens Porn Film Festival, Saucy Magazine) and worked as assistant to painters David Benforado and Dimitris Tzamouranis.She holds a BA in Theatre Studies from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, studied for two years Film at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and doing her MA in Literature at Freie Universität Berlin. She is fluent in English and German and continues to work across Europe in the fields of theatre, opera, and performance.
