Sofia Mavragani
Born in Athens in 1978. Graduated from ArtEZ-University of Arts, Arnhem, NL, with a Bachelor in Dance Making (2005) and from the Athens School of Economics and Business with a Bachelor in Business Administration (2000). Her works: A Live (2022), Patagos (2022), ΜAUΘ (2021), Afterwords (2019), Speechless (2018), Lady R (2017), Salos (2016), The Ηero (2016), Autogoal (2015), Paradox Future (2014), Mind The Map (2010), Incorrect me (2009), The Silence of The Parrot (2008), M (2007), have been presented at several tivals and venues in Greece and abroad,such as: FIBA2023-Buenos Aires International Festival, Athens Epidaurus Festival, Documenta 14, Aerowaves 2019, Megaron: the Athens Concert Hall, Arc For Dance Festival, Kalamata International Dance Festival, MIRfestival, Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival, Dimitria Festival, State Theatre of Northern Greece, Dance Days- Chania International Festival, Apollon Theatre (Syros), Τeatro Belisario (Buenos Aires), Teatro Labrade (Madrid). In the field of education she develops experimental projects on improvisation and composition, such as: Breaking Art workshop on creative collaboration between young choreographers and musicians-composers; imPROject research on stage improvisation; playforPLACE research project on the performing arts and artistic collaboration which has travelled to 17 cities in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Oceania.
Sofia Mavragani's artistic and educational programmes are implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture & Sports and are supported by institutions and Dance Centres such as Neimenster, The J. F. Costopoulos Foundation, Duncan Dance Research Centre, Megaron - The Athens Concert Hall. Founding member of Fingersix international artistic network and the non-profit-organization Fingersix/Athens.
