Vassiana Skopetea is a dancer and choreographer based between Athens and Berlin. She studied dance at the Higher Professional Dance School AKTINA and Law at the Democritus University of Thrace. Since 2019, she has been a regular collaborator of Athanasia Kanellopoulou’s Performing Arts Company, performing and assisting in choreographic work presented at the Kalamata International Dance Festival and various festivals across Europe.
Her performance work includes collaborations with cochlea_collectiφ (Georgia Paizi), the Spanish dance group La Coja Dansa, and German choreographer Constanza Macras, participating in several of their creative processes. In 2023, she began working with director Mario Banushi as a performer in Goodbye, Lindita, a National Theatre of Greece production that toured internationally across Europe, Australia, and beyond.
In 2025, she performs in the revival of Kontakthof by Pina Bausch, a National Theatre production in collaboration with the Pina Bausch Foundation. In theatre, she also works as a movement director and choreographer, notably collaborating with director Antonis Nassios.
Her own choreographic work has been showcased at platforms such as the Athens Video Dance Project and the In Progress Feedback Festival. In 2020, she was artist-in-residence at the Duncan Dance Research Centre, where she developed Fictional Heroes, an original choreographic practice combining elements of dance, theatre, and physical theatre. Currently, she is working on her first solo dance piece, Notes on her transformation (2025). Alongside her creative projects, she teaches dance classes and workshops, and continues to expand her practice through seminars in dance, choreography, and acting.
