Second Artistic Residency Programme at NTG

The National Theatre of Greece is inviting emerging artists, regardless of gender, who hold the nationality of an EU member state (excluding Greek nationality), are based in the European Union, and are active in the field of theatre as writers, directors, or dramaturgs to express their interest in participating in the 2nd Artistic Residency Programme at the National Theatre.
During the programme, three artists-in-residency will have the opportunity to join the National Theatre of Greece, collaborate with its staff, gain in-depth knowledge of how the theatre operates, familiarize themselves with current artistic trends and the cultural life of Athens, and deepen their own research and practice.
The programme is aimed at playwrights, directors, and dramaturgs up to 39 years old, from EU member states (excluding Greek nationality) and based in the EU.
The artistic residency can last up to 75 days and must take place between February 2025 and April 2025.
The National Theatre of Greece will cover:
- Travel expenses to and from the artist's country of residence and Athens.
- Accommodation and living expenses during the residency.
Note that the programme does not offer a paid position, and each participant will need to arrange their own health insurance during their stay in Greece.

II. Motivation letter explaining why you want to participate in the programme
III. Artistic portfolio, if available (optional)
IV. At least 1 recommendation letter (preferably from a theatre or a theatre institution, or an esteemed professional in the theatrical field)
Notes:
• Applicants can declare only one professional identity in the online form.
• If applicants have video links with samples of their work, they can include them either in their CV or artistic portfolio.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Selection:
The selection of the participants will be realized by the National Theatre of Greece in accordance to its standard procedure for artistic collaborators. The selection results are binding for the National Theatre.
Announcement of Results:
By November 20, 2024.
All applicants who have submitted an application to the National Theatre will be informed of the decision via the National Theatre's website in the News section.
Notes:
The collection and processing of personal data (from application files) will be used exclusively for this process and no further processing will be conducted after the selection process is completed.
