Open Call / 2nd Artistic Residency at European Theatres
The National Theatre of Greece is inviting emerging artists of Greek nationality, regardless of gender, who are based in the European Union and are active in the field of theatre as writers, directors, and dramaturgs, to register their interest in the participatin in the 2nd Artistic Residency in European theatres.
Under the programme, three guest artists will have the opportunity to join a major European theatre organisation, working with its staff and learning how the theatre operates, while familiarising themselves with current artistic trends and the cultural life of the host city, in order to broaden their theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
The programme is aimed at playwrights, directors and dramaturgs of Greek nationality up to 39 years old based in the European Union.
The Artistic Residency programme covers a period of up to 75 days and must take place between January and May 2025.
The NTG covers:
- Travel expenses between the participant’s country of residence and the country of the host theatre
- Accommodation and food for the period of the residency
Please note that the programme does not offer participants a paid position and that they will be required to arrange their own personal health insurance during their stay in the host country.

To register your interest, please follow the steps below:
- Fill in the online form in English.
- Send the following documents in PDF format, in English, to interdept@n-t.gr, with 2nd Artistic Residency in the subject line:
- CV
- A motivation letter explaining why you wish to participate in the programme.
- A portfolio, if available (optional).
Notes
- When filling in the form, you can choose only one of the three foreign host organisations and declare only one occupation.
- Video links to samples of work may be included in CVs or portfolios.

- Only fully completed online applications will be accepted.
- A reference number will be sent electronically to acknowledge the receipt of valid applications.

Knowledge of French is required.
2) Piccolo Teatro di Milano - Teatro d’Europa

Period of residency: 3 January – 23 February 2025
Position: Director
A basic knowledge of Italian is required.
3) National Theatre of Albania

Programme duration
Up to 75 days between January and May 2025.
Working language
English and the language of the host country (if deemed necessary by the organisation).
Selection:
The NTG will forward all valid applications to the relevant host organisations. Participants will be selected exclusively by the foreign host organisations abroad and not by the National Theatre of Greece. The National Theatre of Greece will be bound by the results of the selection process.
Announcement of results
The results will be announced by 20 November 2024.
The results of the decision will be posted in the News section of the NTG website.
Notes
Personal data (from the files created when an application is made) will be collected and processed exclusively for the specific process and no further processing will take place once the selection process is completed.
