The Greek National Theatre’s new Educational Programme is for all citizens with an interest in drama, regardless of age.
It consists of weekly acting and improvisation workshops for children, teenagers and adults, as well as seminars covering all areas of the theatre (set and costume design, lighting, music and make-up).
It extends to new activities for the wider public, for anyone who wants an inside view of how productions are prepared, for theatregoers who want to be actively involved in rehearsals and productions, and for visitors who want to see more of the National Theatre building and discover hidden aspects of its history and the auditoriums.
At the same time, wishing to strengthen the ties that young actors have with the profession, the GNT is offering specialised seminars for graduates of drama schools who want to continue their theatre training, or who want to broaden their engagement with the theatre in initiatives that raise awareness and make a contribution to society.
It is strengthening its parallel actions with social bodies and organisations, supporting teachers of all levels with a special Drama in Schools programme.
