Tennessee Williams

ZILLER BUILDING - STAGE "NIKOS KOURKOULOS"

Tennessee Williams's most famous and personal work, a "memory play" as he himself characterised it, is about delicate balances.

In America during the Great Depression, Tom, a young poet, is suffocating both at work and in the small apartment he shares with his mother and older sister, Laura, a nervous creature who prefers her collection of glass animals to human beings. Each of them has chosen to take refuge in their own fantasy life in an effort to withstand the pressures of the outside world.
