Katherina is not like other women. Men are afraid of her fiery temper and avoid her, dubbing her the shrew. And she in turn does all she can to live up to her name - until one man, Petruchio, resolves to tame her by using her own weapons against her.
This early work of Shakespeare's is a romantic comedy and a game of continuing reversals, which goes beyond the boundaries of farce. It is a comment on conscious devotion in a world that treats marriage as a subterfuge but refuses to see its true nature. Konstantinos Arvanitakis directs this unusual story of absolute love, in which anything is possible and nothing is as it seems, while a stellar cast brings the great English playwrights characters fabulously to life.
