The second round of the Residencies programme is now beginning!
25.11.2024
The second round of the Residencies programme, launched by the National Theatre of Greece for emerging European theatre creators – playwrights, directors, and dramaturgs – is now beginning. This initiative is another step in the organization's efforts to promote cultural exchange and mobility, aiming to support the new generation of theatre creators.
Three emerging artists from Europe will be hosted by the National Theatre in Athens, while three Greek artists will travel to major theatre institutions and cities across Europe. The residency lasts up to 75 days, during which the creators will have the opportunity to get to know the workings of a significant theatre organization, collaborate with its staff, and engage with the artistic currents and cultural life of the host city, enriching their research and artistic practice.
The artists traveling abroad are: dramaturg Orestes Fiotakis, selected by the Théâtre National de Bretagne (France), director Aliki Stenou, selected by the Piccolo Teatro di Milano - Teatro d'Europa (Italy), and playwright Michail Trochanis, selected by the National Theatre of Albania (Albania).
In parallel, the NTG will welcome three talented European creators at the end of January: German director Tobias Klett, Spanish playwright Eva Mir, and Romanian director Teodora Petre.
