"Nowhere" by Dimitris Papaioannou - Book your tickets now! From the 14th of October at Ziller Building
11.10.2009
The fully renovated Main Stage of the National Theatre of Greece is set to re-open its doors following an eight-year absence with a work by Dimitris Papaioannou, the avant-garde stage director, choreographer and visual artist who drew international media attention and acclaim with his creative direction of the Opening Ceremony of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
To commemorate the opening of the fully-renovated Ziller Building, Dimitris Papaioannou with the help of Coti K., Zafos Xagoraris, Alekos Yiannaros, and Thanos Papastergiou is constructing a work that makes use of the stage mechanisms now offered by the Main Stage as they are. 26 performers measure, and pit themselves against the dimensions and technical capabilities of the space in a specially-designed performance that can be presented nowhere else.
With its newly-added, cutting-edge stage tower, the Main Stage is today an extraordinary architectural meeting place of two worlds separated by a stage curtain.
Nowhere lasts half an hour and will be presented twice a night Wednesdays through Saturdays at 21:00 and at 21:45, and Sundays at 19:00 and 19:45 with tickets specially priced at 10 euro for all.
Tickets are available from the Box Office of the Greek National Theatres New Stage Nikos Kourkoulos (22-24 Agiou Konstantinou Street, tel. 2105288170-1 and the Greek National Theatre Ticket Office (Ticket Services, 39 Panepistimiou Street, inside the Pesmazoglou Arcade, tel. 210 72 34 567).
