For the second year in a row, the National Theatre of Greece Showcase (held from 4 to 7 April) was a resounding success, attended by 35 artistic directors, curators and programmers from major theatres and festivals from abroad (Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Finland, France, Germany, Georgia, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, and the USA). The Showcase is part of a broader outreach initiative by the NTG that will raise the visibility of Greek theatre abroad.
For four days, distinguished foreign guests watched all the current NTG productions, learned about productions performed in the first part of the season, met artists who took part in them in specially designed events, discussed ideas for future projects, and exchanged views on international trends in foreign festivals and on theatre currently and in the future.
“Contact with artists from other countries is always an extremely refreshing and fruitful experience, opening up new avenues for thought, engagement and future partnerships. It helps us to better understand the artform we love so much and to envision new perspectives and possibilities together with our colleagues from abroad,” notes Artistic Director Yannis Moschos.
The NTG Showcase takes place with financing from the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
