Art is not always beauty, just as beauty is not always truth.
In July 2017 the “Theatre in Greek” intensive drama workshop began at the Young People’s Stage. The participants were adolescent refugees, Greek teenagers and actors from the Greek National Theatre, united in their belief that the theatre can truly transform people’s lives.
The result of the intensive work of this intercultural group was presented under the title “The Journey” for just a few performances, establishing the Youth Stage at the GNT as a venture by and for teenagers.
Following the production’s warm reception, it has been included in the 2018-2019 season at the newly refurbished ground floor of the Rex Theatre, where we are all invited to experience the stories, memories, nightmares and fairy tales of a group of young people who ward off fear with the protective shield of theatre and art.
